You should first decide when you want to purchase your assisted living insurance policy. The advisable age to start looking through your options would be when you or your loved one turns 65. Most of the seniors who check into assisted living facilities average 83 years old so if you buying a policy by the time you are 65 or 70 would provide you with enough time to pay premiums that would give you a benefit amount that you would actually be able to use towards the cost of your stay in an assisted living facility.
